lets start here

For some reason I keep getting "failed request" while trying to upload trip photos...seems sort of fitting for the trip. We requested sun daily, only to be met with failure. Darn weather!
These are the only 4 photos to make it through on about 12 tries of uploading.

7 days at the beach and about 4 hours of sun total (it literally came out on Friday afternoon @ 3:30--we left early Saturday morning). Well actually I lie. It came out Thursday night, just in time to set--making for a spectacular sunset over the harbor.

Each of the other days from sun (not) up to sun (not) down was overcast, full of clouds, chilly and windy. Average temp. was 62, water temp. was 62. We are thinking of trying out for the polar bear swim this winter with all our practice this summer.

Don't get me wrong, it was great to get away and spend time with the family. However, we ALL felt soooo sad that our relaxing beach vacation took a turn for the cooler. There are only so many "alternate" things you can do when your budget has been laid out for a condo. and relaxing on the beach for one week.

We tried to make the best of it, and braved the gloomy skies and chilly water with reckless abandon on Thursday and Friday.

Portraits above are as follows: (in no particular order)

We have "Pickles" by Puddy. (she sat and ate her troubles away through a jar of pickles that week. we packed them up by the baggy-full and toted them to the waters edge where she contentedly munched her sandwich size dills.)

"Fake 'stache" by Grace Catherine. (at the street fair thursday night, a booth was selling "fake 'staches" on a necklace. they advertised that one never knows when one needs to put on a quick disguise. can you recognize grace behind the mustache? huh? can you?)

"Smokin' Hot" by Josh (one day at the beach, whilst josh was digging a hidey hole, he grabbed this perfectly shaped cigar stick and posed for us. At this point in the vacation, we were all threatening to get some sun tattoos in memory of this vacation)

and

"Stacked" by Kyle and the Pud. (self explanatory)

I will retry later for some fun shots I took all through the week. I did have a lot of fun playing with camera settings.
